Rescue Me ID: 17-09-16-00049Lizzie (female)

American Shorthair Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Courtesy Post - Lizzie was found as a stray. She is ear tipped so may have started life as a feral. I took her to the vet where she behaved perfectly, got her rabies and distemper shots, ears treated, dewormed. She's not a kitten, but not a senior either. She is very sweet, enjoys being petted and brushed, and has even climbed into my lap. She can be picked up, but doesn't particularly enjoy it. When stressed, she simply hides. She uses the litter pan religiously, does not claw or scratch furniture, and has no bad habits. She's very quiet and doesn't require lots of attention. She would like her own person to bond with in a quiet ... (Read More)household, and I think she would blossom if she felt safe, but it might take some time. She met one of my kitties outside at the barn and they simply walked past each other with no drama. Inside the house, my cats are territorial and hiss at her. Hence my need to find her a new home. Lizzie is a very gentle soul and just wants to feel safe. - Adult but not senior - Gentle, quiet disposition, a bit shy but warms up quickly - Well behaved inside and outside, no bad habits - Enjoys petting and brushing - Low maintenance and no known health issues - Spayed and up to date on shots - Wants to be the only cat in a quiet household - Have not tested her with dogs but a gentle quiet friendly dog might be ok (Less)

Foster or Adopt Chester - When you get to be old, you can do what and say what you want! At least that's what Chester is telling us. Our senior resident, Chester, of yet to be determined age, believes he has earned the right to lay on his comfy porch bed and bark orders. And so far it's been working! He gets meals and snacks brought right to him without moving a muscle. But when he feels like a walk about in the yard, he trots down his ramp and explores in the grass in his yard. One thing that instantly makes him take notice is when Ladybug the beagle comes to visit. Chester still has it for the ladies! His other daily visitor is ... (Read More)Maggie, the cat. She has won his heart and she even stayed for a sleepover the other night. If he's feeling generous, he'll even share his dinner with her. So that's pretty much his day, girls and food! Chester is in pretty good health, the vet tells us. But like any older guy, his hair is thinning and he doesn't see or hear as well as he used to. He enjoys a car ride, an occasional warm oatmeal bath and, most importantly, someone to hang out with - is that you? To inquire about Chester, please email marylee@waaag.org or you can find and submit an adoption application on our website%A0https://www.waaag.org/dogs-available-for-adoption (Less)

Ladybug is a easy going, happy-to-be-here kind of gal who has her favorite things to do. She eagerly awaits her walks. She runs with her long, silky ears flying and floppy, front feet cruising along to meet her walker. She keeps a leisurely pace on her walk, but loves to get home to her porch and the AC in her cabin. Even if you have just given her an ice cream cone and want to sit and talk awhile, she goes right past you to the cooler air inside. Creature comforts are the name of the game for this senior sweetie. And those soulful eyes and long droopy ears work wonders for getting what she wants - which can include a car ride to the ... (Read More)nearest ice cream stand ;-) Ladybug loves the neighbor boys (dogs in the next cabin)%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0and going for walks with the other residents at the rescue. She doesn't even seem to mind the resident kitty. She would be an easy keeper and happy to fit in any situation.
