American Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Trooper is a special boy who has been through quite a lot in his young life. Trooper was found as a very young stray and eventually adopted from PG County Animal Shelter to a family with small children. Trooper loved those kids and enjoyed playing with the 6 yr old boy. Unfortunately, the family was deployed and sadly a traumatized Trooper found himself back at the PGC Shelter. We are giving Trooper the time that he needs to heal his heart and he is slowly responding to the healing powers of the compassionate and pastoral environment at WAAAG. He is loving his walks through the woods and the comfort of his cabin. Trooper enjoys his walks ... (Read More)MORE when his little buddy, Charlie, is along to give him confidence. When Charlie is having his harness put on, Trooper cries to go along too! We feel the right dog sibling would help Trooper adjust to a new life. He has come a long way since coming to WAAAG. He is comfortable with his caregivers here, but will make new friends slowly. We will wait as long as it takes for him to find the right fit in a home. Trooper is a neutered, American Bulldog mix, 1.5 yrs old, approximately 40 lbs. and up to date on all of his vaccines. Please email marylee@waaag.org or visit our website www.waaag.org for more information on this wonderful and sensitive boy. (Less)

Beagle Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am a lovely senior gentleman. I am good with older, considerate children who won't pull on my ears. I love my walks!!Ľ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%A0I can be walked off leash and will stay by your side, but I am learning to walk on a leash while I am at WAAAG. With a slow introduction I am good with other dogs. I love to cuddle, have my back, belly and rear legs rubbed and if you find my favorite spot, I'll move my legs like Thumper! If you have room on your sofa, I'm your guy :-) Shelby and Rocco are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. Their former owner had to give up these precious babies due to allergies. Since being at WAAAG we have found ... (Read More)that their love for each other is inspiring! On a walk together, Shelby will often turn back to Rocco to gently nudge him with her nose. She makes sure he is still coming and doing ok. And they keep up a spirited pace! There is never a cross word between these two. They willingly share toys, beds and cookies. They get comfort from physically being close to each other and get upset when they have to be separated (such as at the vet's office to get nails trimmedĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BDĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD) Rocco taught Shelby as a pup and now Shelby looks out for Rocco as her big brother in his golden years. Through thick and thin and the changes in their lives these two will soldier on together. Shelby and Rocco should be the only dogs in the household.Ľ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%A0The reason for this it thatĽ└%BDĽ└%BD%BD%A0we feel that it be difficult for existing dogs to accept a bonded pair. (Less)

Italian Greyhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I am Rocco's younger 'sister' Shelby. I came from one of WAAAG's first litters and Rocco's family adopted me. I am an energetic girl who loves to run, jump, play catch, tug of war, cuddle and any other activity you might have in mind. I'm great with kids and other dogs as well. I am told I am quite attractive with my very unique eyes - they are two different colors - one is brown and the other blue! I've only known love from the moment I was born and hope that your family would continue to give me more of the same. Shelby and Rocco are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Cole was found as a stray and taken to a local shelter. He quickly became a staff favorite and spent much of his time as the mascot of the local police department! It takes him a bit to warm up to new people, but then he is friendly and affectionate. Cole gets a glint in his eye when it's time for a walk, as if to say ''Let's go, I can't wait!'Ľ└%BD%A0He turns back to check on his walker as he goes along the trail. He seems to like the sound of a voice behind him. We can picture him with the wind in his ears and nose up to the smells in the air. Cole has a quieter, laid back and gentle side to his personality also. At day's end he's content ... (Read More)to have a belly rub and just hang out and he might steal a kiss to say thanks for a good day(and the cookie)..... Cole is great with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats.
