Rescue Me ID: 16-08-05-00078Alvin (male)

Foxhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is a courtesy post for one of our rescue partners, Fayette County Animal Control Center, in WVa. Meet sweet lovable Alvin! 'Alvin came to the shelter as a stray back in January of 2015! That's right 2015!! That means he's been at the shelter for more than a year and a half!!! We're guessing he is about 3 yeas old, so that's roughly half of his life spent in the shelter! Alvin is a staff favorite and it breaks everyone's heart who truly knows this special guy, that he has had to spend all of this time at the shelter. Sadly, he has been consistently overlooked and used to seem very hyper and anxious when greeted at his ... (Read More)cage. However, since getting regular walks and love from some dedicated volunteers, this behavior has improved a lot! This speaks volumes as to what a little time and attention has done for this boy!! He tends to be shy and nervous when first meeting people, so anyone first encountering him needs to have this in mind, but he quickly warms up and will become your best buddy once the ice has been broken. %90 To the best of our knowledge, he is a hound, lab, and possibly pit mix. He walks really well on a leash and he LOVES to explore and sniff things! He is roughly 55lbs, but has a medium build, and he has already been neutered! He rarely takes an interest in the resident office cats, and over the past several months he has been doing so much better with other dogs and has shown that he really just wants to play! Again, this is proof that this loving guy needs a family to give him the love, time and attention he so desperately longs for and deserves.' Please help us find Alvin his special loving and forever home. ٪%8F%8F Contact the shelter at 304-574-3682 or message them https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=1263735966977464&id=208832652467806&substory_index=0&__mref=message_bubble on Facebook for more information. %90%BE%90%BE (Less)

American Shorthair    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Finnegan was found as a 4mo old stray. It is believed that he is one of 2 cats that were dumped by their former owner. Finnegan is an extremely friendly and affectionate cat. He loves people and will purr you to death. He also loves the company of other cats and is very affectionate with them. Therefore, he would do best in a home with other cats as he tends to get lonely. Finnegan will have to be an indoor cat. He only has 8 teeth due to a congenital dental condition that is easily managed. His diet will mostly be limited to canned/wet food. But you would never know that this little kitty has faced such challenges in his short little life. ... (Read More)He is a total love bug and a volunteer favorite! (Less)
